Community Autism Support Service Referral Form

Terms and Conditions

Please ensure the person you are referring is aware of the service offered by CASS and of the parameters of support. Our interventions run from Monday to Friday, between 9am and 2pm.
The sessions will be in one of our Mind buildings in Coventry, Nuneaton or Rugby, or in a community centre in Warwick or Leamington. Therefore, your intervention would be offered in the location that is the closest to where you live.

What happens if my child does not want to miss lessons at school or college?

We understand you may be concerned about your young person missing school time for our interventions. We appreciate how important their education and their routines are. Schools are one of our main referrers and are aware that our interventions are designed to build skills and confidence that can directly benefit your young person's learning, social interactions, and overall well-being. The time invested in these sessions can enhance school experience and personal development in meaningful ways.

What if I cannot travel to a venue?

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer transport.

Our primary approach involves offering group-based interventions as a first step. These are highly successful as they help participants realise that they are not alone in experiencing certain challenges and help normalise these. One-to-one support can, on occasions, be offered for a few add-on sessions after a Targeted Intervention/throughout a Mentoring course, however it is not the primary mission of CASS as a community-based support service.

Groups are made up of 3-6 individuals, allowing for personalised attention and meaningful interactions. This method of support has shown to have great success previously in achieving outcomes based on the needs of individuals. This is because there is huge benefit in feeling like you belong and there are others who are experiencing the same thing.

Our team is made of support workers and peer mentors who do not hold qualifications in counselling or therapy. We have male and female staff members but cannot guarantee who will be facilitating each group.

Please note that due to the demand of our service, we operate a ‘Two Opportunities’ policy. This means that if you are unable to join the first offered group, we are only able to re-schedule for a different date and time once. If you cannot attend a 2nd offered group, dependent on reason you may be removed from our waiting list and would need to re-refer to access our support again.
